Our story starts as any other classic love story...good old-fashioned online dating. We both had all but given up on the online dating scene and all that it DID NOT have to offer. Lauren found herself in a particularly good mood one evening, after a Backstreet Boys concert and decided to give it one more look. She did not know it would be the last. Benjamin had been intrigued by her headline which read: Message if you love Jesus, you know who Steinbeck or Stephen King is, you enjoy a good game night, or you frequent wineries or breweries. Benjamin's response was simple: All. Of. The. Above. Conversation flowed pretty easily after that and a first date followed a week later. We met for sushi and perhaps it was nerves but neither of us had very much to eat. The date would have ended in less than an hour except that the conversation was so good that neither of us wanted it to end, so we headed to a second location where we both stayed up way past our school night curfews. These dates continued in the same fashion for almost a year until one of those dates ended with a proposal in the same location that Benjamin asked Lauren to be his girlfriend, on the rooftop of the Mission Inn.
