If your children are included on your RSVP invitation, then they are warmly invited. We appreciate your understanding and look forward to celebrating together!
The main attraction on the Mehndi day is the application of Henna/Mehndi on their hands and/or feet. The Henna is a temporary tattoo that ladies of each family put on to celebrate the joyous occasion. Supposedly the darker the Henna stain, the more your fiance loves you.
The Pithi ceremony is a joyful, playful and fun occasion in which family members and friends bless the couple with well wishes by rubbing the turmeric paste (for glowing skin) onto the bride and groom’s arms and hands, feeding M&Ms (to sweeten the marriage) to the bride and groom, and showering flower petals (blessings) on the bride and groom. Once the Pithi is complete the couple stands up and must step on a Sapatia (small clay pot) breaking it to ward off evil spirits.
Sangeet is definitely the night every must come energized and ready to dance all night! It's an event all about music and dance.
The Nikkah ceremony is where the couple will submit their vows through the Ismaili constitution. This is a religious setting where the guests are dressed in formal and modest attire. This is a short ceremony so please be sure to arrive on time!
The Koba Kobi is a quick ceremony filled with games to determine who will be the boss in the marriage and to encourage their happiness and laughter lasts forever. This event will take place directly after the Nikkah ceremony for close family and friends.
