Destination Wedding in Pittsburgh, PA

Penguins, Primantis and plenty of bridges. Oh My.

Pittsburgh is hands down one of our favorite places to travel to! Getting to catch a Penguins game, eat some Primanti Brothers (Shannon loves the pastrami and Sean likes pretty much all of them!) and see all of those amazing bridges and water ways is paradise for us. There is a lot of great food, things to do and culture in Pittsburgh - it makes the 10-hr road trip worth it every time. In addition, a large majority of Sean's family lives in the area, so it was an easy decision when it came time to choose where we should get married. We are looking forward to celebrating our wedding with an intimate private ceremony and reception with our closest friends and family!

How we Met

To all the online dating nay sayers..... here's a story for you!

Shannon was living in Fulton, IL working as an online Military Financial Advisor for the school she graduated from - 40 minutes south, Sean was living in Bettendorf, IA as a talent recruiter for Sedona Staffing. After attempting traditional dating, we both wanted to find a meaningful relationship. Both of us turned to the popular (at the time) dating site, 'Ok, Cupid'. I cannot recall who sent the first message, but after talking for just a couple weeks, we finally decided to meet up on November 6, 2011. Sean made the drive up to Fulton where we had a few activities lined up for the evening (which, was par for the course as we love an adventure!). We met up at Shannon's apartment and drove to a local park, Eagle Point, where we took Shannon's dog, Schatzi, for a walk. After a couple of hours, we started to get hungry, so we picked up food from Applebee's and ate at Shannon's apartment. The conversation between the walk and dinner was both non-stop and we covered all kinds of topics! It was a fantastic first date. Some of the best things about our relationship is that the conversation is always good and we challenge and support each other. A week later, on November 13, Sean made it "Facebook official". Although we celebrate our anniversary on November 6 because we see that our first date as the start of everything.
