Hiking
If you want to get out in the wilderness, you've come to the right place! Muir Woods, Mount Tamalpais, and the Marin Headlands are all easily accessible by car and offer a variety of trails for all levels. Whether you want to walk amongst the redwoods or take in Pacific Ocean views, we recommend downloading the AllTrails app and picking one - you can't go wrong! San Francisco
If you are staying in the city or planning a daytrip, some of our favorite places include: - Golden Gate Park - Telegraph Hill & Coit Tower - Land's End & The Presidio - Museum of Modern Art (SFMOMA) - Oracle Park (the Giants are in town September 7-9) If driving from Mill Valley, San Francisco is accessible via US-101 South. Our preferred mode of transportation is the ferry from Larkspur or Sausalito, which will drop you off at the Ferry Building in downtown SF. The ferry ride itself is worth the trip, or you can access some of the activities above from downtown. Check here for ferry schedules: https://www.goldengate.org/ferry/schedules-maps/. If you will be using public transportation, we strongly recommend getting a Clipper Card, which can be used on basically everything (ferry, MUNI bus/rail, BART). The easiest way to get a card and add money is to add to your Apple or Google Wallet on your phone. We are happy to help with any questions!
