FAQs

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We would love to keep our wedding as intimate as possible. If you received a plus one, it will be listed on your invitation and will appear under your name when you RSVP through the website. We appreciate your understanding.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

Although we love your little ones, we have decided to keep our wedding and reception an adult-only event. This rule excludes little family members of our immediate family. We hope you'll take this opportunity to enjoy a date night and we appreciate you making prior arrangements!

Question

What should I wear?

Answer

We’ve always loved the timeless elegance of a black-and-white theme, so that’s exactly what we’re embracing for our wedding day. We’d be thrilled if our guests dressed up and joined us in the theme! We kindly encourage black-and-white attire to match the celebration’s style. Gentlemen, a white dress shirt with black dress pants is perfect. Ladies, we ask that you avoid wearing all-white dresses. We hope you’ll enjoy this special touch as much as we do!

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 pm. Please arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the ceremony to give yourself plenty of time to park and find a seat.

Question

Are there hotel room blocks available for guests?

Answer

Yes, we have two blocks. We have one at Bridges Bay Resort (connected to the venue) and one at Lake Okoboji Resort. Bridges Bay Resort requires a 2 night minimum, while Lake Okoboji Resort does not. All information about these resorts are under "Travel." Call and say Totzke/Benes Wedding Block.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

To help us with our planning, please RSVP to the events as soon as possible. However, the deadline is April 15, 2026 if we don't receive your RSVP by this date we cannot make exceptions and will have to mark you as 'no'. We need to provide the venue with a total guest count in a timely manner, we hope you can understand.

Question

Is the Wedding Outside?

Answer

Yes, as the sun will be shining (hopefully) both the Ceremony and Social Hour will be outside. We will move indoors for the Reception and Dance!
