I love her contagious joy. She's so full of life. EB is someone that people just want to be around. We are laughing the majority of the time that we spend together. Also, she clearly reflects Jesus in so many areas of her life. Jesus came to be a servant to all and to give his life for us. EB does a great job of laying down her life and serving others as well. When something needs to be done, she is always quick to jump up and do it without complaining. She's also stunningly beautiful. :)
The first things that I noticed about Ben were his initiative to welcome people well & the kindness of his eyes, which sounds cheesy, but I just love them. He is a calm, patient man. A prayer warrior. He's intentional with his time & relationships. He doesn't ramble, but when he speaks it's with powerful truth & beauty. He is humble. He's delightful to talk to. People love being around him & I'm forever meeting people who have been impacted by his walk. He's a lifelong learner & excellent teacher. He patiently pursues & cherishes me. He is SO handsome - I'll try not to mention the color of his hair, but HIS HAIR. :) He makes life so fun with spontaneous hiking & bookstore adventures. He teaches me more about Jesus, prays with me, vision-casts. He loves Jesus more than me & therefore loves me well. I GET TO BE HIS WIFE! I recently overheard Mom saying, "And a few minutes after he leaves, she says, 'I just love him so much!'" It's true. :) P.S. 1000 characters is too short.
We met through Campus Fellowship at Drake University.
After a happily adventurous day of Mars coffee, campus walks, Dirt Burger, botanical gardens...and then (cue the stalling for setup) Jimmy John's, Big Blue, gum at a gas station, another Mars stop...he proposed where we had our first date at the High Trestle Trail Bridge. Things started to click by the time we got to the bridge that it may seriously coming, but, yes, so delightfully surprised! He had threaded signs with edited Tow'rs favorite lyrics. At the center of the bridge, he gave me a letter from my parents with their enthusiastic blessing & warmed my heart with visions of banana pancakes on Saturdays, teaching kids about Jesus, opening up our home to sinners & saints...and got down on one knee (did NOT drop ring in river) and I said YES!!! Our friends Paul & Jayson captured the moment and we were surprised by an ice cream party back at our family's home with way more than pre-Coronavirus 10 friends & family. We couldn't stop smiling!
No tux required. Weather-permitting, the wedding is outdoors, so we recommend "garden formal." Think flowy bohemian dresses, bow ties, suspenders, light & bright colors. It will hopefully be a beautiful end-of-summer celebration!
Same place as the ceremony: Harpor's Vineyard!
Absolutely! However, we do understand if you decide to have a date night. Please RSVP so we can plan accordingly.
The kiddos will be relieved that we're planning a breakfast feast! A lot of our dates have been breakfast-y at local diners, so we wanted to share some of that deliciousness. Alcohol will not be onsite, but we're planning some scrumptious coffee options.
In light of COVID-19, some logistics of our wedding are uncertain due to health & legal considerations. We are moving forward as planned, desiring health, flexibility, and grace concerning our arrangements and guests. There is currently a guest count restriction in Iowa which if it remains would require further communication with you as we would need to substantially reduce our guest count. We hope as the summer progresses the count restriction becomes more favorable. Please keep an eye on our website for the most up-to-date information as August 2 comes closer in the event of changes. As always, we value your health & safety, so we completely understand if you choose to attend with a mask, sit in a more socially distant space at the event, choose not to attend due to safety concerns or any member of your family being sick at that time, or change your response after June 28. Please reply by June 28 at the RSVP tab & enter your email address so you can be notified of updates.
We'll be husband & wife!! Mr. & Mrs. Weber!! We'll next be in DSM - Ben teaching history, reading, & Latin at a classical academy while EB finishes her elementary education degree and student teaches. Stay in touch! And drop by for a visit sometime, please. :)
Steaming cups of dark roast. Local, local, local. A good book(store). Indie music. Eclectic style. Beards ;) Hats. Spontaneous adventures. Laughter. Campus walks. Hiking. Small concerts. Road trips.

Due to Ben having a stocked apartment & desiring to keep our belongings light, you’ll find that our website registry is more minimalistic and also includes several “fund” options instead of physical gifts: a “hospitality fund” for feeding & hosting guests (hopefully including you!) in the future, “honeymoon fund,” “classrooms fund” since we are both educators, and “as needed fund” for future needs. Feel free to either write a check or visit our website registry if you wish to contribute. However, there is no pressure to give - your friendship is truly the sweetest gift of all!
