When Sarah tore her ACL and Ben was unemployed...we decided to raft the Grand Canyon for a month! Gavin and Trina drew a last-minute permit and we stepped up as inexperienced captains.

We dressed up for Nikki and Josh's wedding, too! We've enjoyed many backcountry ski days with them.

Fancy days with Biggie, 2017! Sarah adopted Biggie in 2012, and Ben took him for daily walks during the last 3 years of his life. Biggie taught them about steadfast love the importance of snuggles.

Stoke is high after making it through Aniakchak rapids! This is before one member of our group lost a paddle...but we survived with good cheer and good stories!

Josh took photos of us as Ben asked Sarah to marry him in Turnagain Pass. Ben proposed to Sarah on Eddy's mountain, which was also the first mountain in Turnagain Pass that they skiied together.

Packrafting in the Brooks Range in 2017! This was our first multi-week trip together, and the excuse for Sarah to buy a packraft for Ben to practice with.

July 2019--Our first surfing trip! We bought a used board and paddled from Seward to the mouth of Bear Glacier. Few waves were harmed.

Tromping around in India in 2019! Ben quit his job at Audubon and they traveled around Indonesia, India, and Nepal for six very fun and random weeks.

Our first time visiting Prusik in the Denali Kennels after we decided to adopt him! Prusik was busy trying to extract more caribou treats from Sarah's pocket.

Family vacation in Hawaii for Christmas! We got lots of surfing in.

In 2019, we went to India and ended up at a Jainist festival, getting adopted into an enthusiastic and very welcoming group of pilgrims.

Learning to clam on Washington beaches with Ariel and Nicholas. Next, we had to learn to cook with them...it turned out that cooking was harder than catching.
