Standedge Tunnel and Marsden
Home of the longest, deepest, and highest canal tunnel in the UK, built in the 18th century. The surrounding picturesque village of Marsden is full of nice pubs and cute shops.

One of our favorite pubs, very close to the wedding venue. Also where we had (one of) our engagement parties!

A Huddersfield staple with delicious creamy ice cream.
Golcar & Colne Valley Museum
The historic weaving village where Ben was born and raised. Discover the hidden ginnel trail and the Colne Valley Museum (and many many steep hills).
George Hotel
The birthplace of rugby league in Huddersfield town centre.
Huddersfield Giants Game
The Mighty Huddersfield Giants (formerly the Huddersfield Barracudas). Cheer on the claret and gold!
Greenhead Park
Big open-space park with a model railway next to Greenhead College (where Ben went to school).
Beaumont Park
Beautiful Victorian era park within walking distance of Ben's parents' house.
Holmfirth & Holmfirth Vineyard
Huddersfield only vineyard (proof that we CAN grow wine in England!). They do a good brunch and afternoon tea.
Slaithwaite
Despite its spelling, pronounced "slah-wit". Charming former mill village in the Colne Valley. Lovely bakery by the canal.
Hebden Bridge
Dating back to the 1300s, this quaint market town is now the lesbian capital of the UK and home to a thriving arts and crafts culture.
Manchester
The UK's Second City. Home of Manchester United. Big city with plenty of theatre, restaurants, museums, and nightlife- particularly the famous gay Village on Canal Street. Also the home of the University of Manchester, where Ben did his PhD.
Liverpool
Home of Liverpool Football Club, the Beatles, and the historic starting points of many UK to US migrations.
York
Historic city over 2000 years old with Roman walls, Jorvik Viking Centre, medieval castles, and the Shambles (the street Diagon Alley was based on).
Peak District National Park
Beautiful national park with rolling hills and stunning landscapes. Ideal for hiking and enjoying the outdoors.
