How We Met

August 2017

During their senior year of high-school, Ben and Miranda met in their marine biology class when they "accidentally" ended up sitting next to one another. Ben started joking around with her, playing with a scapel that was meant to be used in a dissection. Miranda invited him on three separate dates, all of which he turned down because he had saved all of his school work for the last moment. Finally, she got him. He went to a study date at her house, and he was wooed by her beautiful personaliy. Shortly afterwards, on a trip to the park, he accidentally tripped her as they raced down the road, resulting in an injury that led to months of pain and eventually a knee surgery. That painful experience was actually God's plan to grow them closer, preparing them to handle the many future struggles together.

The Proposal

August 8, 2019

Throughout their relationship, God gave Ben and Miranda a number of trials to grow them closer together. As a result of one specific trial, Ben was brought to the point of deciding to fully give his life to Christ. This completely changed the course of their relationship. Over a year later, at the end of the summer of 2019, Ben took Miranda out on a very special hike, on a trail they had gone on many times before. Unbeknownst to Miranda, Ben had ordered special socks that had a zippered pocket which he stored the ring in, so he could slip it out of when it was the right time. Then, when they were getting up from a bench, he got down on one knee and popped the question.
