Love, Maybe

Ben and I knew each other through mutual friends and had hung out frequently. February 2018, Ben asked me to dinner to just have a friendly dinner and get to know each other a little more. Granted when Ben first met me, he thought I was the loudest person he had met and wasn't interested at all. A quick dinner turned into us staying for hours at the restaurant until the servers had closed the place down and even let us stay past closing. They told us, we were cute together, but please go home! Ben dropped me off for the night with the understanding between us that we weren't ready for anything serious since we both had just gotten out of two relationships. We stayed in touch as friends and texted often. Soon we started just running into each other constantly and couldn't shake the feeling that the universe was telling us to give in already.

Fate

After weeks of trying to avoid dating each other or saying anything official, Ben and I told each other how we felt. I remember inviting him to our local restaurant for a drink one night because I was feeling oddly like a night owl that evening. Unknowingly, Ben was already home and drove 35 minutes to the place just to have a drink with me. Once again we closed the place down, talking for hours about our feelings and everything else that came to our minds. By the time Ben walked me to my car, I knew I was done for. This man had won my heart and I wasn't getting it back. We agreed to stop pushing against Fate and decided to date.

The Proposal

After over a year of love, unbelievable connection, and friendship, Ben asked me to marry him. I had just gotten home from a cruise with my mom for her birthday and Ben had made dinner. He left to run to our closet and came back with the most beautiful ring. He told me it felt good to find someone that made him laugh again and that he wanted to continue laughing for the rest of our lives. I cried and said "Yes!" We are so excited to share this story of love and Fate with you.
