Well, it all started Fall of our freshman year at UT. Naturally, we both went to the Texas State Fair to witness The Red River Rivalry Game and even though Texas lost, we won. Our friend groups happened to cross paths that day. Neither of us thought much of our encounter in the moment but over time things would obviously change. Over the summer of 2021, after a pandemic and experiencing a lot of spiritual growth, we lived in the same apartment complex. One day after working at the hospital, Macy brought me a P.Terry's milkshake that changed everything. She started to come over to my apartment after work to debrief each day. I fell hard as I got to know her kind and bubbly personality that was so willing to serve others. Macy felt heard and seen. It led to a summer of slowly yet eagerly learning about each other. I would come to fall in love with Macy’s vibrant personality, unashamed humor, and humble heart. Throughout our relationship we’ve held fast to Colossians 3:12-15 as a model for loving each other. This is our hope and prayer moving forward: “Put on then, as God's chosen ones, holy and beloved, compassionate hearts, kindness, humility, meekness, and patience, bearing with one another and, if one has a complaint against another, forgiving each other; as the Lord has forgiven you, so you also must forgive. And above all these put on love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony. And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.” Thank you so much for being a part of this season with us. We pray this would be a time for loved ones to gather in worship of all Christ has done, to commune together and share lots of laughs. We love you all dearly.
