Faithfully Ever After

August 2012. First day back for the staff at Camelot Elementary. Ben had been working as a special ed teaching assistant at Camelot the previous two years and was starting his first year as the specialized support classroom teacher, while also continuing graduate school for a Masters in School Counseling. Lindsey had completed her first year as a speech language pathologist assistant at another NEISD school and was well into her second year of grad school for a Masters in Speech Pathology. She had been placed at Camelot for the 2012-2013 school year and with great resistance, but much prayer, she obeyed and embraced her new placement. Ben and Lindsey met the first day, sitting together with their Special Ed Team. It wasn't an immediate connection or love at first sight, but the two developed a work relationship which quickly evolved to happy hours, then nights out, shared interest in TV series, cooking fancy meals, to life discussions, & exploration of faith ultimately leading them to Church and joining a bible study. If anyone asked the status of their relationship it was always "we're JUST friends"...Fast Forward two more years, they traveled to Romania on a mission trip Summer 2014. Not only did they have the opportunity to share the gospel with children infected with HIV, but they were able to stand up and share their testimony together about friendship, faith & forgiveness. It was shortly after that trip the two found themselves on the slopes of Monarch Mountain in Salida, CO for Spring Break 2015 where in Ben's words "it had been leading up to it and it just happened, we finally kissed." From then their relationship continued with much prayer and patience until with their puppy sons as witness, Ben played the most memorable "movie trailer", got down on his knee and proposed. They look forward to the big day when their new adventure beings! March 10th can't come soon enough!
