Kirstie and Ben were looking to meet someone new, as Kirstie had just moved to Charlotte and Ben was becoming fully acclimated to his life in Charlotte. In their search to meet someone, Kirstie and Ben noticed each other on Bumble. Kirstie noticed Ben's dance moves and blue eyes, and Ben noticed Kirstie's incredible smile. After talking for a few days, Kirstie decides to ask for Ben's number and suggests they meet up for drinks.

After Labor Day weekend, Kirstie and Ben decide to meet up for drinks at a pub. They talk about traveling, the Carolina Panthers, and Kirstie's love of "spin dip." They then decide to play Jenga and Cornhole, where Kirstie beats Ben at both :) They end the night with a hug and both hope to hear from the other within the upcoming days. Kirstie sends her mom an email and tells her mom that she has found someone that she likes. Ben texts Kirstie the next day and Kirstie literally jumps for joy when she sees who texted her!

During a date night, Kirstie talks about having "a Ben." Later, when Ben drops Kirstie off at home, he tells her that he didn't like how she said she had "a Ben," but wants her to know she officially has a boyfriend!

After just two months of dating, Kirstie knows that she has found someone special. She tells Ben that she loves him one night after a date, and although Ben thinks it is soon, he tells her he loves her, too.

Ben and Kirstie surpass moving into one person's place and instead decide to buy a house together! Although Kirstie is initially hesitant about the fact that their favorite house does not have a bath tub and has a screened-in porch, they end up buying a perfect little townhouse in Charlotte. Ben later promises that Kirstie can get a bath tub in their next house.

After countless attempts to persuade Ben to get a dog, Ben surprises Kirstie with a present on Christmas of a puppy collar. Kirstie cries, realizing that her dream of having her own dog is finally coming true! Kirstie and Ben bring Ellie home in February and their lives are forever changed.

For Kirstie's birthday (in May), Ben tells Kirstie her present is going to be a surprise trip. Kirstie anticipates the surprise trip until September, when Ben finally tells her they have a flight booked to an undisclosed location that is cold and snowy. The night before the trip, Ben tells Kirstie they are going to Banff, Canada, a place Kirstie has longed to go. While there, Ben and Kirstie explore the beautiful lakes in Banff and at Lake Minnewanka, Ben gets down on one knee and asks Kirstie to be his wife!
