What should I wear?

Answer

We’d love for guests to lean into the summer garden party vibe with cocktail or semi-formal styles, florals, and colors you love. Our ceremony will take place outdoors on grass, so we recommend choosing shoes that are grass-friendly. The bridesmaids will be in pink - but pink is always welcome. The more pink, the better!

What time should I arrive?

Answer

Guests can start arriving at 3:30 PM. The ceremony will begin promptly at 4 PM, and welcome drinks will be served as you arrive.

Will there be transportation?

Answer

Yes! Shuttles will pick up from the hotels at 3:20 PM and take guests to the ceremony. At the end of the reception, shuttles will depart Walker Homestead at 10:30 PM, dropping guests off at the hotels and the after-party bar in Iowa City. Please indicate on your RSVP if you plan to use the shuttle so we can plan accordingly.

Is parking available?

The venue has a parking lot. Ubers are also an option to get to and from Walker Homestead.

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our ceremony will ideally be held outdoors on the lawn, with dinner served inside and dancing outdoors, weather permitting. We recommend wearing shoes that are grass-friendly for your comfort. The venue is indoor/outdoor with lots of natural light, so sunglasses are encouraged!

Are kids invited?

Answer

Although we adore your little ones, we have chosen to make our wedding an adults-only celebration, with the exception of a few family members. We hope you enjoy a fun night off celebrating with us!
