Kate and Ben’s story technically began at LCBC Church… but really it started when Taylor Bream (who you’ll also see marrying them) recruited Ben to play keys on the worship team. A few years later, Taylor heard the news that a music teacher had started attending, and within a few weeks Kate had joined the team as the second keys player. On the very first Sunday she shadowed Ben… well, that was it. They went from casually talking about music in the atrium to texting every single day about pretty much everything (which, for Ben, is a significant development). On July 10th, 2023, Ben took Kate on their official first date. They shared a single bowl at Chipotle, which in hindsight was a very serious level of trust. A few days later on July 16th, they decided to make it official. The relationship continued to grow through long hours in the studio, Friday night football games, and many hours spent at LCBC. Then came an important milestone for their little family: in May of 2025 they adopted Sig, a very energetic tuxedo cat. Because nothing says commitment quite like voluntarily losing sleep to a small creature who eats EVERYTHING. After two and a half years of dating filled with music, laughter, and kitten cuddles, Ben FINALLY got down on one knee. On December 13th, 2025, the ring appeared hanging around a pickle ornament on the Christmas tree… which Kate struggled to find. She said yes right away, and the wedding planning began! We are so excited to spend this special day celebrating with all of our favorite people. It has already been an amazing journey, and we can’t wait to see what the rest of our story holds.
