OUR STORY - We had our first date while Katelyn was visiting family in DeKalb, Illinois in the winter of 2021. While Katelyn was finishing up school that spring, Ben would visit South Bend for many weekends and in March 2021 our relationship was official! We spent a lot of time together the summer before Katelyn went off to graduate school in Florida. We also spent most of our first two years together as a long-distance couple, whether it was South Bend, Tampa, Barbados or Cincinnati. We still made an effort to see each other in person once a month during that time. Long-distance was over in spring 2023 when Katelyn moved back to Illinois after graduate school. In fall of 2023, Katelyn found her dream job in Nashville and both Katelyn and Ben moved to Tennessee. In March 2024, Ben popped the question to ask Katelyn to marry him and she said yes!
