Visitors of all ages can fill their days with floating, hiking, swimming or fishing. Echo Bluff State Park has miles of hiking and even adrenaline-filled mountain biking trails. Bring your fishing rod and head to Sinking Creek for excellent fishing for the elusive smallmouth bass or local favorite goggle eye. Or you can simply chill in the cool spring fed waters of Sinking Creek behind the lodge.
For a faster easier float Ben and Jenny recommend a 7 mile float on the Jack's Fork River. Be sure to book your float on Friday and not Saturday so you can make it to the ceremony. The Jack’s Fork offers 46 miles of beautiful winding, crystal clear waters and breath-taking bluff views. We recommend floating Alley Spring to Eminence. And make your reservation in advance to ensure you get a kayak or canoe.
For our most adventurous guests Ben and Jenny recommend the Current River. These are longer more scenic floats so be sure to put in by 9am so you can make it back for the meet and greet. Current River floats: Cedar Grove to Aker's Ferry (8 miles) - features rope springs, Medlock Spring waterfall, old asthma hospital from the 1800s. Aker's Ferry to Pulltite (12 miles) - features a cave you can take your canoe in. Pulltite to Round Spring (10 miles) - features Pulltite Spring, rock archways & Round Spring. Please book your put-in time no later than 9am. Be sure to book a canoe/kayak rather than a raft so you can make it back for the meet and greet Friday.
