Enjoy a stroll on the water through the heart of the city at Lady Bird Lake. The trail can also take you to Zilker Park!
South Congress has a great view of the city and Texas Capitol. There’s lots of neat shops to poke around in, murals to admire, and most importantly, you can grab a slice from Homeslice Pizza and a scoop from Amy’s Ice cream.
Zilker Park is a great place to sprawl out and take in the city. The park may be closed as they prepare for their annual Trail of Lights Festival in December, so stay tuned!
Pease Park is a lovely park that we used to frequent a lot while we were at UT. Between the weeping willows and huge oak trees, a cool suspended dome you can hang out in, and the giant nature troll, it’s a pretty neat place to walk around!
Go to Sam’s if you want a sliver of a local dive bar two stepping scene with great live music, kind people, great dancers, and maybe a dog or two hanging out on the dance floor.
Another fun honky tonk bar with live music and dancing!
If you have some time on your hands and want to shop (or window shop) for trinkets, antiques, art, home goods, and just straight up oddities, Uncommon Objects is for you. The space is huge and so much fun to browse…or buy…
