This is one of our favorite places to grab coffee + hang out together! There are two locations, and we love them both! We actually went to North Burgie's on our very first date!
Reiman Gardens
The flowers here are stunning in the summer! Plus they have the world's largest concrete gnome! You can't beat that!
Lockwood Cafe
This is the best place to get a crepe in Ames!
Downtown Ames
There are a lot of fun spots in downtown Ames! We recommend going for a stroll down Main Street when the weather is nice to window shop, grab some gelato, and hang out!
Dog·Eared Books
This is a super cute local bookstore! PLUS they have a really adorable dog!
Chocolaterie Stam
This is a great local chocolate shop, with AMAZING gelato options! Sometimes, you'll catch a live piano performance when you go!
Bar La Tosca
Originally called Stomping Grounds, this is an awesome cafe/restaurant right by Iowa State University! The menus are phenomenal, the environment is beautiful + plant-filled, and they serve their coffees and teas in lovely pottery pieces!
Ada Hayden Heritage Park
A great park in Ames for a long walk in the sunshine!
Des Moines' Downtown Farmers’ Market
You'll have a fun and vibrant Saturday morning that's well-spent in the capitol of Iowa! There are a ton of fun shops + restaurants in downtown DSM!
Fong's Pizza
This Asian fusion pizza shop is one of our favorite places to go in DSM! You have GOT to try their Crab Rangoon Pizza (trust us--it's amazing)!!
