We met in August of 2009 when we both started first grade at Covenant Christian Academy

For the first time in all 10 years of attending school together, we were finally put in the same class. It didn't take us long to become friends which quickly turned into mutual attraction. For our first date, we went to sophomore homecoming, and had a dinner date at Ruggeri's.

We both decided that we should pursue our own academic endeavors at the schools that served us each best - which meant the beginning of three and a half years of long distance dating that spanned 3 continents and many time zone coordination difficulties. We both took the opportunity to study abroad, Ben in Germany and Emma in Singapore. From these experiences, we learned so much about ourselves, each other, and how to make a relationship flourish even when on opposite sides of the globe.

We were engaged at grapevine lake on a beautiful December sunset shortly after Ben's graduation from ACU.
