DRINK WATER!
From Bozeman there are two main entry points. The West entrance is about 1 hour and 20 minutes drive away. This drive will take you along the Gallatin River, past Big Sky and to the tourist town of West Yellowstone. This entrance is best for seeing geysers, including Old Faithful and Yellowstone Lake. The North entrance is also about 1 hour and 20 minutes drive away - through Paradise Valley to Gardiner. This entrance is great for wildlife viewing along the Lamar Valley or seeing Yellowstone Falls. If driving from the Old Country (WI/MN) - the North East entrance past Red Lodge is an amazing drive up and over the Beartooth plateau and along the Lamar Valley. The park is MASSIVE - we recommend picking a region to visit, park the car and walk around. You will spend too much time in your car if you go for the full loop.
Hiking, Biking, Climbing, Swimming, Fishing A gorgeous area right outside of Bozeman. Tons of hiking trails, a beautiful reservoir with jumping trout and waterfalls (go chase 'em). The fastest and easiest spot to get into the mountains around town.
Hiking and Biking A great stop to hike before the wedding! The three main rivers that feed Southwest Montana (Gallatin, Madison, Jefferson) meet here to form the Missouri River. There are some cool old pioneer buildings and mellow trails.
Hiking and Biking Trails a little more geared for mountain bikes.
Hiking Close to town, a little challenging with a view of Bozeman at the saddle.
Lots of trails and flowers in the summer! Start planning your trip back in winter.
Great dinosaur fossil collection.
A great family spot - usually can accommodate larger groups.
Tasty Thai food - one of our favorites. Get a reservation if you can!
