When booking accommodation on the island, please do not book in Rocky Bay or any further East as post-wedding shuttle transport organized won't be able to take you home. There are no reliable taxi services late at night. See the 'Waiheke and Auckland Maps' tab for a better idea. Oneroa is the main village, but there are many beaches and vineyards scattered around the island. Staying in Auckland

If you are planning to stay in Auckland you have a lot more options and availability in accommodation. The main things to consider are that you will be taking the ferry there the day of the wedding and back late on the same night which means you will have to take the Fullers ferry between Downtown Auckland and Matiatia, Waiheke. You'll probably want to stay close to the ferry terminal in Downtown Auckland so you can walk or take a short Uber/Taxi, (buses and trains will have stopped by then). Finding places in Auckland shouldn't be difficult.
