When it all began

Summer of 2013

Alphabetically, Williamson comes before Wissel. Ben and Cecelia sat next to each other in many of their high school classes at Colerain and became friends over time. Ben's quick wit and sense of humor left Cecelia laughing through AP English. They were both dating other people at the time and never thought much about what their friendship would eventually become. During the summers of those early college years, their group of high school friends would get together for bonfires and other shenanigans. The summer after sophomore year, a group of friends went to a Brad Paisley concert where Ben ended up serenading Cecelia with Brad's song "Then". Their first official date was to the Columbus Park of Roses. Ben scored instant brownie points because Cecelia's middle name is Rose! After weeks, months really, of dating when Ben was home from Columbus, he officially asked her to be his girlfriend in September overlooking the lake at the Columbus Zoo. Second best question he has ever asked!

The Proposal

8.11.18

Ben and Cecelia love adventures, but a 12 mile hike in the rain? Seems like it should be a wet and soggy story, but it is their favorite adventure! Their hike up Mt. Cammerer in the Great Smoky Mountains was not promising because of the weather. They knew the view was going to be nonexistent but they were up for the challenge! When Ben and Cecelia reached the summit, they relaxed for a bit on the edge of a rocky outcropping overlooking what should have been a stunning view of the Pigeon River Gorge. Instead, the mountain and valleys were shrouded in thick dark clouds. They were finishing their peanut butter and jelly sandwiches when the rain started coming down- sideways! As the high winds drove sheets of rain horizontally across them, Cecelia saw nothing but Ben getting down on one knee, and asking her to marry him. Of course she said "Yes" to a lifetime of adventures! Moments later, the sky cleared for a few seconds so they could see the beautiful view below. They held each other close and relished in the moment. When they think of that day, they can't imagine a more perfect moment! It will always remind them that together, they can weather any storm.
