Question

Do I need a VISA?

Answer

Yes, you need a VISA. 1) If you are coming from the United States, the best way is to STOP by Miami, Florida airport before flying into Havana, Cuba. Typically you would fly with American Airlines. You will have to fill out a Visa form here: https://cubavisaservices.com/product/e-visa/ (You have to fill out per person, not sure about children, or dependents. Each visa costs around $100 USD.) 2) When you are at the American Airlines desk, at the airport, for the REASON OF VISIT/PURPOSE, click: "Support/Help the Local Cuban People." (If it absolutely necessary for you to click this. DO NOT SAY you are a tourist, etc. because you need to be with an official legal tour group if so.) 3) If you are flying in from another country, it will be an easier entry and process than going through the United States.

Answer

1) The best way to get around town is to ask your hotel to get you a taxi. Typical rides within Havana will be around $10 USD - $20 USD, depending on the proximity. Some taxi drivers will try to cheat you, so be aware and be upfront from the beginning. You can also try to barter with them upon entrance of taxi/

Question

Can I use Credit Cards?

Answer

You are not able to use any major international credit card in Cuba. So your everyday expenses will be paid with cash. However, when you do check in to your hotel, (3 stated hotels to book) you will be able to pay with credit card if you'd like. You will just have to ask for a form that they will send you via email, and you can pay it that way. It is secure and safe. I typically use AMEX, however VISAs work as well. (Only for hotel accommodations.)
