Ben and Anj met during their sophomore year at Union College. Shortly after, Anj departed for a term abroad in Spain where they kept in touch from time to time. As if by magic (or good timing on Ben's part), the two ran into each other on Anj's first night back from her travels in Spain. Like no time had passed, they quickly picked up where they left off, embarking on an amazing journey together that would start in Schenectady, New York and take them to Boston, Colorado, New Hampshire and beyond!

During Anj and Ben's first year dating, Ben flew out to Colorado to visit Anj in her hometown. Anj took Ben to one of her favorite childhood spots, Evergreen Lake. Fast forward to present day, Ben decided to use the lake for his proposal. Tucked inside a valley surrounded by rich mountain ranges and all that Colorado has to offer, the lake provided the perfect backdrop for Ben to pop the question. But, getting engaged wasn't the only surprise Ben had up his sleeve... Hidden just out of view were both of their families who were there to celebrate and enjoy the special moment with Ben and Anj right after!
