It was a friend's costume birthday party in 2012. Andrea was 90s Selena and Ben was in a flowing black wig (ok, maybe it was more matted than flowing). It was there that Andrea won the limbo contest and Ben's heart! They hit the dance floor, hair whipping, bedazzled bustea blinging and sparks flying. Ben quickly swept Andrea off her feet with a sweet kiss and his heart of gold. The rest is history!

The couple decided to take a weekend getaway to Ouray, CO in May 2017 - a tiny mountain Town set in a beautiful Box Canyon in Southwest Colorado. Little did Andrea know, Ben had been plotting away. He arranged for a room in a lodge with hot springs on site and views of the surrounding Peaks. He researched local hikes, one to a nearby waterfall, all the while leading Andrea to believe she was planning all of this with him! After a 2000 foot climb, amongst the peaks, at the base of the waterfall, in snow and sunshine he popped the question and she said yes! Ben had not one but two rings in tow. He proposed with her great grandmother's ring, passed down from Andrea's Grandmother and mother. But knowing it wouldn't fit yet, he gave her a beautiful amathyst ring so he could put something on her finger in that special moment. They climed back down the mountain and noted their engagement in the trail log. When they got back to the room Ben had champagne and flowers waiting to celebrate. It was definitely a weekend for the books!
