We take the pandemic and the health and safety of everyone seriously. We will continue to monitor our local public health standards and recommendations as well as the recommendations of our vendors. Please note, in Madison the mask requirements are at the discretion of business owners so masks may be required to be worn at hotels, restaurants, and in shuttles and/or ride shares.
Our ceremony and reception will be held at the Wisconsin Historical Society. Located right on campus, it only seemed right for Amy and Ben to have their wedding on the campus that brought them together. The Wisconsin Historical Society address is: 816 State Street, Madison, WI 53706. This portion of State Street is not accessible by car. The connecting streets are Park Street and Langdon Street. Both the ceremony can reception will be outdoors.
There are several parking structures located near our venue. We recommend budgeting an additional 10 minutes in travel time if you plan on parking on campus. State Street Garage/Lake Street Ramp: 415 N Lake St./430 N. Frances St. (Approx. 6 min walk.) UW Lot #6: 600 N Park Street: This garage is located on the northwest corner of Observatory Dr. and North Park Street. (Approx. a 3 minute walk) Guests with limited mobility may be dropped off/picked up on Landgon Street in front of Library Mall and will need to navigate a few steps to enter the venue. There is also a small staff only parking lot on the corner of Park and Langdon for drop-off/pick-up with ramp access to the venue. Guest will not be able to park in this lot. Please mind the meter markings and UW Vendor/Permit parking signs! Many hotels in the area do offer a shuttle service to our venue, please check with the front desk at your hotel for details of the service!
All of our events will take place outdoors on the the East Terrace of the Historical Society. The East Terrace opens up onto Library Mall and has beautiful views of Lake Mendota. Our wedding ceremony will start at 4pm. Happy hour will follow the ceremony with signature drinks and appetizers. We will then move to our tables under tents around 5:30PM for cocktails, dinner, speeches, dancing and further celebration!
We would say cocktail attire. Vibrant colors, big smiles, and dancing shoes are recommended. (Don't forget to bring your mask!)
We will have food stations for our dinner, offering many options and some of our favorite foods! However, if you are concerned about allergies or food restrictions, please email Amy at amy.n.chenault@gmail.com to touch base.
