Peyton Benac grew up in Jenison Michigan, attended Harvard University to study astronomy & physics, then proceeded on to UCLA for her PhD where she met Luke! She loves sharing her life with someone who loves good food, good (or bad?) sci-fi, craft beer, and their sweet (and sassy) little dog Sally.

Dr. Luke Finnerty grew up in Winnetka Illinois, attended Caltech to study physics & astronomy, and then moved onto UCLA for his PhD which is where he met Peyton! He spent a year in Peyton's home state for a postdoc and is now back home in SoCal with Peyton and Sally.

Samantha and Peyton have been inseparable since Peyton entered the scene in 1999, so Sam is basically the most qualified to say that Peyton & Luke are a perfect match. Sam & her husband Reilly live in Ohio with their little boy Arthur and their two cats.

Mark and Luke have been together through every phase of life, and Mark is so excited to help celebrate this new chapter! Mark and Peyton have bonded over their shared love of makeup, Lady Gaga, Taylor Swift, and memes that they have to explain to Luke.

As Peyton’s best friend since 9th grade, Megan has become an honorary Benac sister. Peyton and Megan have done everything together, from running Girls in Stem at Jenison High, to the WHRB Rock Department at Harvard! Megan is now back at Jenison High School teaching the next generation of STEM students.
Benjamin Calvin
Best Man
Luke and Ben have been inseparable since they met in college at Caltech. Ben also had a critical role in “wing-man”-ing Luke and Peyton in the early days before they started dating! Ben has been Peyton & Luke’s roommate for years and serves as the other parent to their dog, Sally.
