There is tons of stuff to do at the Ranch, so you don't have to go far during the day! They have running trails, mountain biking, horseback riding, tennis courts, and a pool
Tanque Verde Ranch borders Saguaro National Park, which is aptly named for the iconic Saguaro cactus that dots the landscape here in Tucson. We will have access to many running/biking/horse trials at the ranch, and we highly encourage you all to take advantage of this unique location! Exploration is best in the early morning or late evening, when the sun isn't quite as strong. Bring your sneakers, sun hats, sunscreen, and water bottles! The official entrance to the National Park is about a 5 min drive from TVR, and has an awesome 8 mile loop that is great to drive or bike. (we have a few road bikes- hit us up if you want to borrow)
On the other side of Tucson, but definitely worth it if you have an extra day in town!
Mt. Lemmon rises about 5,000 above Tucson, and is where we love to go to escape the desert heat. The road is windy and beautiful, and takes you into an entirely different ecosystem as you rise higher into the sky. The tall stands of Ponderosa pines are home to many creatures, including bears and mountain lions. There are many hiking & biking trails, and the climbing is awesome!! Also, Windy Point vista is a great place to drive to in the evening to watch the sun set over the city.
Climbing trip before or after the wedding, anyone?!
