Utah has a few quirks when it comes to alcohol. First, establishments may be licensed as a bar or restaurant. A bar is 21+, no exceptions (even newborns). A restaurant is open to everyone and usually requires a food order to drink alcohol. Second, in general, any liquor, wine or high-point beer will need to be purchased at a liquor store. Any beer on draft or available at a grocery/convenience store will be 5% or less.
Log Haven will provide free valet service for anyone driving up for the wedding. You are also welcome to leave your car over night and uber or take the shuttle out of the canyon. Note: Your valet ticket will also cover the Millcreek Canyon fee typically required when exiting the canyon.
Cell service is spotty going up Millcreek canyon. However, free WiFi is available at the venue.
Due to capacity constraints, we are currently only inviting our families' children to the wedding. Note: The Friday welcome event is at a 21+ establishment so no children allowed. In this case we will work to provide a sitter. If you are in a position where you need to bring your kids please reach out and we can try to accommodate you!
Please RSVP by August 8. If you have any issues feel free to reach out!
Yes! We will have shuttle busses to take guests from the hotel to the venue and back. Please see the travel page for more information.
We've put a few of our favorites in the "Things to Do" section, but for information. There are hundreds of beautiful trails within the Salt Lake area, AllTrails is a great resource. Donut Falls is up Big Cottonwood canyon and great for all ages. Mount Olympus is between the hotel and the venue and will make the strongest hikers feel weak. If you do Grandeur, be sure to avoid the western trailhead.
Utah has 5 national parks that we highly recommend, however they're between 4 and 6 hours away. If you want to make a vacation out of your trip we highly recommend renting a car that has 4 wheel drive and some ground clearance if you want to see the less beaten paths. Eva's power ranking: 1 - Moab Double (Canyonlands and Arches) 2 - Zion 3 - Bryce Canyon 4 - Capitol Reef Please visit yourself and debate as necessary
Outside of the National Parks, there are a number of state parks and National Monuments throughout Utah that are just as beautiful and typically less crowded. Some notable options: Antelope Island, Dinosaur, Escalante, San Rafael Swell (Goblin Valley) Other attractions within a day's drive: Mirror Lake Highway, Salt Flats, Mt Timpanogos Caves, Jetty Spiral, or Fifth Water Hot Springs
