Donnie and I met one night at a bar in Montrose that we now both frequent. I had just gotten off of a bartending shift at Christian’s in 2021. Donnie was working that night, and my friends told me they wanted me to meet him. He introduced himself, and I said “Oh my gosh! Your name is Donnie?!? My name is Bonnie. We have to be best friends!” He smiled at me and said “Okay.” Fast Forward… three years later, he’s my honey. We not only became best friends, but I get to love him and snuggle him and our two chihuahua littles. Best of all, I get to marry him! Donnie asked me to marry him under the stars on a freezing cold night in Wimberley, Texas. He planned in secret for months and with our friend (and bridesmaid), Keely, he completely blew me away with his heartfelt proposal. There were balloons and a candlelit walkway leading to him standing in the moonlight. Lover by Taylor Swift was playing and I heard the song and instantly I knew this was our moment. There were lots of tears and smiles and laughter. I can’t imagine a better way to start this next chapter in our life together. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for being a part of our story.
