We have been blessed to live in and make friends in several different parts of the Country. From San Diego and Boston to Texas, Illinois, Tennessee, and North Carolina! When we began thinking about our wedding, and all of the people we wanted to share our day with, we figured that if most of our loved ones would need to fly to celebrate with us, we might as well make it a vacation for everyone! And where better than the Maya Riviera! We chose May 1 because, in addition to being one of the most beautiful times of the year in the Gulf, it is also International Workers’ Day, or “May Day.” May Day is a day to celebrate and appreciate the struggles and achievements of workers and labor organizations across the world. It is a day of action, and one that means a lot to both of us (we first connected while working together on a labor campaign in College). Weeks later we helped to organize a May Day rally, and the rest was history! We figured it would be a perfect day to celebrate our union! We understand not everyone will be able to make the trip; to those who can’t, we understand and will miss you! We hope you will all join us and enjoy festivities and the all-inclusive benefits! This celebration will be eight years in the making, let’s party accordingly! #ToTheUnion
