Welcome Dinner/ Jaggo

6:00 pm - 10:00 pm

Traditional Punjabi suits or lehngas are encouraged, but cocktail dresses are also welcome. Traditionally, this event is very colorful, so please embrace colors such as pink, blue, orange, yellow, and green!

Jaggo is a traditional event that happens the night before the wedding ceremony. The event brings both sides of the family together for a night of singing and dancing, before the families are brought together through marriage. A North Indian style dinner will be served. There will be also be an open bar, appetizers, and desserts served.

The Blissful Ceremony/ Anand Karaj

10:00 am - 1:00 pm

Traditional Punjabi suits are preferred for women. Otherwise dresses should be modest, comfortable, cover your shoulders, and the length should fall below the knee. Men can wear suits. Head coverings are required. Thin shaws for women and bandanas for men will be provided to cover your head. If you are interested in purchasing a Punjabi suit, please see the FAQ section.

Anand Karaj or the Blissful Ceremony is a traditional Sikh wedding ceremony where the betrothed will be officially married. During the Blissful Ceremony there will be traditional music and singing with recitations from the Sikh Holy Book. When the betrothed take their vows, they will walk in circles around the Sikh Holy Book while the guru recites the vows. Walking the circles as a couple represents accepting the vows as an eternal promise. Before the ceremony, there will be tea and light bites served. Around noon, after the conclusion of the ceremony, an Indian vegetarian lunch will be served. The Blissful Ceremony requires all guests to sit on the floor, so please dress accordingly. Breakfast and tea will be served from 9:30-10:30AM. With ceremony to follow. Lunch will be served following the ceremony from 12:30-2:30PM.

Vow Ceremony

3:30 pm - 5:00 pm

Semi-Formal: Tuxes and gowns are welcome, and so are suits and cocktail dresses.

Although the couple will be officially married during the Blissful Ceremony, they would like to exchange vows in an American tradition as well. Please join the couple during this traditional American vow ceremony. The ceremony will be held outside unless it rains, and will begin promptly at 4:15pm. Cocktail hour to follow from 5:00-6:00 pm.
