The Berkeley is a beautifully restored, historic steam ferry built in 1898. Once used to transport passengers across San Francisco Bay, the Berkeley now serves as a stationary event and museum vessel. She is permanently docked at the San Diego Maritime Museum along the Embarcadero. No need to bring your dramamine, because the boat is docked, motion sickness will not be an issue. Guests will have access to the Museum during the wedding, but don't spend too much time away from us on the top floor!
Our ceremony will take place outdoors under the summer sun, followed by an indoor-outdoor reception. We pay for the weather in San Diego, but even paradise likes to turn up the heat in August. We kindly ask our guests to dress in cocktail attire, think light, breathable fabrics and dressy summer style. Keep in mind when the sun goes down, the coastal breeze will be cooler, especially on the water.
Please arrive by 4pm.
We will not have a shuttle service from hotel to the venue. The hotel room block is walking distance to the venue - you just need to cross the street!
There are 3-hour parking spots available in front of the boat, as well as an underground parking garage across the street. We highly recommend taking an Uber or Lyft so you can have the most fun with us!
Yes! We will have vegetarian, dairy free, and gluten free options available.
Yes, if your invite includes your little one(s), we can’t wait to celebrate with them! Please keep a close eye on them as we will be on a historical landmark, and on a boat. We don't want any overboard guests!
Please kindly RSVP by May 30, 2026.
