Yes, you will need a passport if you are flying from the United States to Mexico. If you don’t have one yet, it typically takes 2–3 months to obtain, so we recommend applying as soon as possible!
Someone will reach out to you directly, either by message or phone call, to confirm your attendance and meal preference.
We recommend staying in the historic downtown center, one of the most beautiful, clean, and safe areas of the city. We have a room block coming soon, but there are also amazing Airbnb options in this area. We do not recommend staying near the reception venue, as it is a bit more remote and less convenient for exploring the city.
A callejoneada is a traditional Mexican walking tour that takes place in the narrow alleys (callejones) of Guanajuato, known for its colonial charm and vibrant cultural history. This tradition is often led by a group of musicians called estudiantinas or tunas. The experience is highly interactive, with the musicians encouraging the group to join in singing, clapping, and dancing as they move from one picturesque alley to another.
We kindly ask that only those who were extended a plus one on their invitation bring a guest. If you’re unsure whether you have a plus one, please don’t hesitate to reach out to us for clarification!
We kindly ask that only children included on the invitation join us for the celebration. Thank you for understanding!
Guests should fly into BJX Airport (Del Bajío International Airport) near León, as it’s much closer than Guadalajara Airport. BJX is just 30–45 minutes by car from the city center.
You can, but we don’t recommend it. While it might be convenient, parking in the historic downtown is very limited due to many pedestrian-only areas. Additionally, some hotels charge for parking. Getting around with taxis and uber is often easier and cheaper!
All events will take place within the beautiful city of Guanajuato, located in the state of Guanajuato. The city is a UNESCO World Heritage site. The callejoneada will be a walking route through the historic downtown, the mass will be at the heart of the historic center, and the reception will be on the outskirts of the city, just a short 10–15 minute drive from downtown.
Taxis are readily available outside the airport and are generally affordable- we recommend this option. Alternatively, Uber is an option but the pick up point is located outside of the airport - fares typically ranging from $20–$40, depending on time and traffic.
In May, the weather in Guanajuato is typically warm and sunny, with daytime temperatures ranging from the mid-70s to mid-80s °F (24–28°C). Evenings can be cooler, so we recommend bringing a light jacket or sweater for the night.
Yes! The night before the wedding, we’re hosting a callejoneada, and everyone is invited. The dress code is casual, so feel free to wear what you like—though touches of white are encouraged! Be sure to wear comfortable shoes, as there will be walking and stair climbing involved. We can’t wait to celebrate with you!
Yes! The dress code is Formal & Colorful! We kindly request formal attire for our special day. Think colorful and bright hues, soft pastels, and elegant styles that capture the spirit of a garden celebration.
If you stay in the historic downtown center, both the callejoneada reunion point and the church are within walking distance, making it easy to get to these events.
The mass will begin promptly at 2:30 PM. We kindly ask that everyone plans ahead and arrives 10-15 minutes early to ensure a smooth start to the ceremony.
We will provide a shuttle service between the ceremony and the reception. For transportation to the ceremony and back after the reception, guests are encouraged to use taxis or Uber, which are readily available.
We expect the reception to continue until 2 AM, but please feel free to depart whenever is most convenient for you.
If you have any food allergies or special dietary requests, please notify us directly. We will work closely with the venue to accommodate your needs as best as possible.
For the callejoneada, we’ll be providing drinks as we walk through the historic streets. At the reception, we’ll have an abundance of food and drinks available throughout the evening.
It depends. Parking is not easily available for the mass or callejoneada, as they are in pedestrian-only areas. However, if you choose to drive, there is parking available at the reception venue.
We kindly prefer gifts to be either shipped to us or made as contributions to our registry. If you would like to ship a gift, please contact us for the address. If you’d like to bring a gift to the wedding, we kindly request that you consider bringing cards or small gifts for ease of travel.
