How It All Began

Her Story: The funny thing is when you have a middle school crush, that’s what it is, a crush. For a week at Jenkins Middle School, I had a crush on Jason because, like me, he was a Patriots fan. As all middle school crushes go, it was gone before it really began. We continued to run into each other through our school years and talked on occasion as classmates. Who knew so many years later he would be the love of my life. When we met again in college, I instantly knew if we started a relationship, it would be for the long haul. As a 22 year old, I was unsure if I was ready for the real deal at this point in my life. I knew I couldn’t ignore it or put these feelings aside, so we took the leap. His Story: After a couple years of not seeing or talking to eachother, fate crossed us into eachothers paths. We started to talk again and started to hang out. The spark between us was undeniable. Being two hours away from eachother prevented us from dating right away. It took a few months for us to decide to take the plunge and start dating despite the distance, but once we did there was no looking back. The distance didn't matter, all I knew is I wanted to be with this woman. Every Friday for almost a year, I drove to Greeley so I could see her. When she graduated, she moved back to the Springs and we could be together all the time. The rest, as they say, was history!

The Proposal

October 26, 2019

For our three year anniversary, we decided to take a trip to Glenwood Springs for the weekend. We had planned to go to the hotsprings, Hanging Lake, and other things to experience Glenwood. Unfortunately, neither of us knew Hanging Lake was closed to personal vehicles and that tickets had to be purchased prior. We were both instantly dissapointed; he planned to propose at the lake and I had a strong feeling that was his plan. We both quickly thought of something else to do: ride the gondola to the top of Glenwood. When we made it to the top, we went to the view area where the mountains just took your breath away. I, as the sign reader in the family, began reading the scenic signs that explained each mountain. Meanwhile, Jason was trying to get something from his pocket. He got down on one knee when it was just us on the deck, and asked me to spend the rest of my life with him!
