It all began when Juby was at her friend's birthday dinner. She was sitting at the end of the table when a random person she never met before showed up. This is where Bejoy comes into the picture. Bejoy was in the area and just stopped by to say "hi" to one of his best friends who was attending this birthday dinner. He sat down at the end of the table, directly across from Juby. He politely introduced himself to her and her friends. When asked her name, Juby nervously stuttered her name as "Jujujujujuby," and both her friends and Bejoy found this hilarious. Juby decided to entertain herself and told Bejoy that she was a urologist because she thought she would never see him again. Bejoy did not believe her at first. Juby then told him that he's right and that she's actually a gynecologist at Long Island Jewish Medical Center. Bejoy was in awe because of how young Juby looked and he told her that he also works at that hospital as a Resident Pharmacist. Juby then realized she could not keep up this story and told him that she was actually a Concierge at the hospital. Once the dinner ended, Bejoy and Juby parted ways. Several days later, Bejoy saw Juby at the front desk of the hospital as he was leaving from his shift and he decided to stop by to say "hi." When he arrived at the desk, he asked "excuse me, is this the gynecology department?" Juby turned red as she said "no." As days progressed, Bejoy stayed late after his morning shifts and continued to visit Juby at the front desk during her evening shifts. Juby was shocked to see that Bejoy would wait his turn on a long line of visitors to speak to her. As Thanksgiving approached, Bejoy asked Juby about her holiday plans. She discussed how she has huge family gatherings with lots of food. Bejoy asked Juby to Snapchat him photos of their feast, but Juby said she could not remember her Snapchat ID. Bejoy built up some courage and used this as an opportunity to ask Juby for her number. The rest is history...

Since Juby and Bejoy started dating, they always knew they were perfect for each other. Around the 3-year mark, they started discussing when to get married. Bejoy wanted to wait until the Summer of 2020 to propose, but Juby was anxiously waiting. He told Juby that he wanted to consistently go on date nights and that she has to "dress to impress." She did not take this seriously. After this discussion in January, Juby dressed very casually on date night #1. Bejoy decided to prank her and pretended to propose. Juby freaked out and pleaded for that day to not be the proposal. Bejoy told her he was just joking around. Since then, Juby took date nights more seriously. On date night #2, Bejoy took Juby to Blend on the Water, their favorite date spot. Little did Juby know that Bejoy had already spoken to Juby's parents for her hand in marriage, scouted the area with her little sister and the photographer, and would be proposing that day. He also called her dentist to ask them to call and ask her if they could reschedule her appointment with an excuse that they double booked (her appointment was around the same time as the proposal). When they arrived, Bejoy asked Juby if they could take photos down Gantry Plaza. Juby wanted to go inside because it was freezing out. Bejoy insisted on walking further and taking more photos. On their walk, he asked her what she loved most about him. Juby wondered why he was asking and Bejoy said they needed to practice for when he decides to propose. Juby found this strange but answered him. He also told her what he loved most about her and got down on one knee. Juby laughed and asked if he was pranking her again. Bejoy then took out a ring and proposed. Juby was shocked but said "yes" and was surprised to find her little sister and a photographer hiding behind a bush. Looking back, Juby and Bejoy are happy to have gotten engaged in January and celebrate with friends and family immediately before the pandemic. It all worked out perfectly!
