Our Story

The stars were aligned...

If Alex were telling this story, he would make up an elaborate tale of how he saved me from a burning building, casting me as a damsel in distress. But truthfully, we met as most people do in our modern era of romance—via online dating. We often talk about how strange it is that we never crossed paths before September 2022. We had both lived in midtown for several years by that point, yet never once saw each other. We say the timing just wouldn't have been perfect because when we finally met, sparks flew. It was undeniable that the chemistry between us was unmatched. Since then, we have grown so much together as a couple and as a family. I finished my master's degree and began a challenging new career as an English as a Second Language teacher. Alex was offered and accepted a new job with International Paper back home in Jackson, Mississippi. We are in the process of making the big move as I type. Alex took in my beloved Sybill, my pup of ten long years as his own, and we rescued a stray, Mama, from the alley behind our house on Mother's Day 2023. Most significantly, I have bonded with Alex's daughter, Sydney, and I am so excited to see how our relationship continues to blossom. We've laughed and we've cried as we have grown even closer. Most of all, we have the most fun together—traveling, playing games, riding bikes, kayaking, camping, playing music, cooking, or riding around in one of Alex's fancy cars. Sometimes, we just sit around, watch movies, or share the space in silence until one of us says something absolutely ridiculous. Alex proposed next to a beautiful waterfall in the El Yunque National Forest of Puerto Rico on February 1st, 2024, and I said yes... obviously! When we met, a space was filled in both of our hearts that we didn't even know was missing. Spending our lives together was inevitable. Thank you for being a part of our joy. -Lindsey July 20th, 2024
