You may be expecting to read about how we met through a dating app, arguably the most popular way to meet someone nowadays. Would you believe us if we said we met in-person... at a bar nonetheless?! Laura likes to say we "met in the wild", something that is a great way to represent how our meeting came to be. The Philadelphia-based ski and snowboard group, the Philadelphia Freeriders, was having one of their monthly happy hours at a bar called Barcade located in Fishtown, Philadelphia. This was a group we were both a part of and had participated in a few activities up until that point yet we never crossed paths. We both were in attendance, enjoying the night with our friends and meeting new ones. It was not until a mutual friend of ours was having a conversation with Laura. Jeremy noticed this beautiful girl talking to our friend who he had never seen at a group event before. With a mix of natural courage and synthetic confidence (meaning 3 or so drinks in him), Jeremy purposely pushed his way into the conversation in hopes of catching her attention. Needless to say, it worked! We found out later on that both of us had doubts earlier in the day about attending the happy hour that night. It is crazy to think that our lives could have been completely different if one or both of us decided not to go. We could not be more grateful that we both made the right decision. ❤️

Throughout our years, we both had kept saying how much we wanted to visit the Pocono town of Jim Thorpe, PA. With some of its picturesque views and known for its neat little town filled with history and great food, Jeremy knew this was the exact place it had to happen. One sunny morning after waking up in our cozy Bed N' Breakfast right outside of town, we took a hike on a trail leading to a beautiful lake surrounded by seemingly endless green (exactly what Laura wanted!). Jeremy had to stall for a few moments as the big moment was being accidentally intruded on by one lone soul in the area who happened to be inhaling a green substance that you can probably guess. After the man had moved on (and with a small laugh about the humor of the situation), Jeremy got down on one knee right next to the lake to ask the question that both of us had been eagerly awaiting. Laura said yes and so began the next chapter of our lives together!
