3 days to go!!!

We first met in Mrs. Rossi's Precalculus class in high school, the 2011-2012 school year. Given Kayla's current career path, meeting her love in math class is only fitting. While Kayla knew it was love at first sight, it took Jeff a little while longer to realize he won the lottery. After many hikes and park dates, Jeff decided he needed to make it official. On July 9th, 2013, Jeff cooked Kayla a scrumptious meal at cousin's pizza and asked her to be his girlfriend. We spent our undergraduate years together at TCNJ and four more years in Baltimore, MD, before moving back to New Jersey the summer of 2021.

We had a beautiful anniversary get-away weekend planned in Shenandoah National Park. We departed for Virginia on the day of our anniversary, July 9th. Naturally, we were running late and hit traffic along the way. For being the typically chill one in the relationship, Jeff was frustrated with the traffic and eager to get to our Airbnb so that we could tackle the hike he had planned. While Kayla found this weird, being the one who always wants to squeeze in activities, she went along with it. We arrived at the hike with only an hour before sunset. Jeff immediately started speed-hiking the trail, leaving Kayla in the dust. She tried to take a break on a few occasions, but Jeff wouldn't let her, insisting they make it to the waterfall in time. When they arrived at the waterfall, Jeff found a rock overlooking it that said "You are loved". He got down on one knee and said, "Kayla, you are my bestfriend and I want to spend the rest of my life with you. Will you marry me?" Of course!!! We celebrated and took pictures in front of the waterfall but had to speed-hike back before it became dark. Jeff had a wonderful dinner planned at "It's about Thyme", but their Covid hours ruined that plan. We ended up getting Dominos pizza to commence the engagement!
