Our love story isn't the most traditional one. Zack and I actually met on a dating app called Bumble! We lived less than 5 miles from each other for TWO YEARS and we met on a dating app. Woww how times have changed! Two weeks prior to meeting him, I had a pretty intense heart - to - heart with the Lord. I asked him to either lead me to my future husband, or to take away the desire in my heart for marriage. Have I mentioned that God's timing is always perfect? We went on our first date at a little Mexican restaurant in Mobile, and the second I saw him walk up in his cowboy boots, I knew he was probably going to be the one. Ha! Honestly though, we clicked instantly and I knew pretty quickly I couldn't wait for him to change my last name. After 10 months of dating, Zack popped the question, and I sobbed, "Yes". We are so excited for our wedding and hope you can all join us to celebrate our special day!
Zack proposed on our 10 month anniversary on January 21, 2020. I knew we were going to dinner that night, but since Christmas and my 25th birthday had just passed, I didn't think much of it. We ate dinner at the same Mexican restaurant we had 10 months earlier. Zack checked his phone more than he ever had before during a meal, but when I asked about it, he didn't think much of it. He asked if I wanted to run by target before we went home because he needed toothpaste. It didn't matter what he needed - I never say no to a Target trip! He let me walk around Target for as long as I wanted. Little did I know my brother had been texting him telling him to stall a little longer. We then headed home and Zack asked me about my Elementary school. I didn't think much of it because I had shown him my middle and high school whenever we passed by. I told him it was just a little ways past my house if he wanted to go straight instead of turning to go home. We pulled up to it and I told him fun memories I had from school there. In the distance were a bunch of Christmas lights. Zack asked me what I thought all that was. I told him someone was being tacky and left their lights up! He suggested we go check it out and pulled into a parking lot and told me to get out of the truck. We walked down a side walk into a courtyard lit up with white lights and tea candles. The entire time I kept telling him I didn't think we were allowed to be there! He pulled me along and when we got to the middle of the courtyard I heard our song, "With You I Am" by Cody Johnson playing over a speaker. That's when I knew. Zack got down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. I sobbed and answered the easiest question I'd ever been asked!
