Life is unpredictable and although we’re not hosting the exact same vision as we originally planned, we have decided to set a new wedding date for 2022! This smaller dinner party will be a perfect time to celebrate not just George and I, but life and love in general- we’re thankful to have you all in our lives and can’t wait to dance, drink, and be merry with ya’ll! Thank you to all of you for supporting us through this roller coaster timeline- Let's Party!
As many know, my sister, Kimberly, introduced George and I with the sure confidence of the older sibling - absolutely positive that this was the perfect match. It wasn't an option- I had to meet George. George and Kimberly were co-workers at the time, and Kimberly thought he was the sweetest- often bringing in home cooked meals, with special vegetarian options for Kimberly. Touched, she started brainstorming if she knew anyone she could set up with this wonderful catch- of course- Me! As soon as the thought entered her mind she realized how perfect it would be and she was determined to make it happen. From George's perspective, he was honored- she wouldn't set up her little sister with just anybody! He was leaving for Georgia soon, and wanted to meet before it was too late. We met on a double date, the night before George was flying across the globe. We spent the night effortlessly talking, laughing, and walking around Carlsbad, trying to make more excuses to continue the date. When he came back six weeks later, we quickly arranged our second date, meeting at Belly Up to see one of George's friends play on stage. From that night on it has been just pure magic. Everything changed once we entered each other's lives. We knew within weeks that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together and what a gift it would be. The first time George expressed his love to me he said, "I have so much love for you." We carry that sentiment with us- every day is appreciated and well spent together. Through bright and dark days, we support each other and lift each other up- shaping us into the people we want to be. We're forever grateful for Kimberly's foresight and gladly know we owe her big time!
As vaccines are getting distributed and hope is starting to creep back into our lives, George and I have made the decision to officially postpone our wedding celebrations. We want nothing more than to celebrate with all our loved ones, but we know the party we want, and the people we want there, just wouldn't happen this year. We've been planning and postponed for 3 years now and it's time to take a break and refocus our energies on other happy ventures. We did have a beautiful ceremony last year on Saturday, June 12, 2020 in the front yard of our new home with immediate family. It was a perfect day, save for missing all of you! We are hoping to revisit this for a 5 year wedding anniversary to celebrate life and love and PARTY HARDY! That special day once in your life, when everyone you love is together celebrating, looking and feeling fabulous, is still very much a dream and we truly can't (but must) wait! We wish you ALL the BEST and hope to see you all soon! Much Love - Lauren & George
This is an odd time and as most other life events have changed, so must our wedding plans. Although this isn't what we originally planned, the most important thing is that all of us are healthy & safe. We’re looking towards the future & excited for what these changes bring. We've officially moved our wedding celebration to next year, on Saturday, June 12, 2021. We will commemorate much more than just the love between George & I, but to life, love, & our community as a whole. We miss everyone terribly & can't wait for the day we can see you & celebrate life's joys with you. One such joy is our recent decision to become homeowners! We fell in love with a beautiful home in Escondido, CA, minutes away from George's family home. As you can imagine, going through Escrow in March was a whirlwind. We moved Easter Weekend, have been loving this sanctuary, & couldn't feel more thankful & thrilled for the future here. To begin this new chapter of the unknown, we've decided to marry as scheduled on Saturday, June 13, 2020, right here at our home! The thought of waiting a full year just didn’t seem right to us, so we’ll be hosting a very intimate, social distancing event with family. Another joy to look forward to with a 2021 wedding is that we’ll have a special bundle of joy joining us as our official ring bearer, even if he can’t walk yet. My sister & brother-in-law, Kimberly & Ryan, are expecting a baby boy this August! Although life takes you down unknown paths, embracing the changes guides you towards moments you never thought you’d experience, & later on, can’t imagine living without. Thank you to everyone for your support & friendship during this crazy time. You all mean the world to us, & although we wanted to marry with everyone here with us, we can’t wait to truly commemorate the moment next year & throw a party of a lifetime! Check back in for updates throughout the year, and anticipate an official Save the New Date soon! We Love You, Lauren & George
