The USS Carl Vinson is one of the U.S. Navy's warships stationed in San Diego, CA. Who knew it would also lead to the chance encounter of a Filipina-American woman from San Francisco, CA and American-raised man from Pittsburgh, PA. Justin had already endured two years on the infamous Carl Vinson when Christine had boarded the ship as a cheery, naive sailor. Justin would see Christine in the hallways, but Christine did not notice Justin at first. One day, a friend of Justin's told Christine that Justin was interested in her. Unfortunately, Christine was not interested in dating a military man. Not now, not ever. Nonetheless, Justin was friendly, playful, and respectful at the workplace. After months of imprisonment on the ship, the Carl Vinson finally pulled in to port in Honolulu, Hawaii. Christine asked Justin if he would like to hang out together in Hawaii, and Justin shyly found his way to mumbling out "yes, if you want". The ship pulled in to Honolulu, Hawaii on June 15, 2017. Since that day, Justin and Christine had been inseparable. Every possible waking minute was spent together. The two could not have been happier. Justin and Christine endured a long distance relationship from JAN 2019 - MAY 2020 when Christine had to spend the remainder of her time on the USS Carl Vinson in Bremerton, WA. Justin was off the ship and spent the rest of his military contract on shore in San Diego, CA. The long distance tested their relationship, and made them question what exactly they wanted to get out of it. On May 2020, Christine moved in with Justin in San Diego. The two adjusted from military life to civilian life. On November 22, 2021, Justin proposed to Christine at the same location on Waikiki Beach, Hawaii, that they had shared their first kiss together back in 2017. After all they have gone through in their adventures, Justin and Christine had decided that San Diego would be where they would build their life together and start their family. It comes to no surprise that San Diego is where they have chosen to gather their loved ones from back home, and welcome them all to their new home - San Diego.
