We met under the Port Authority Bus Terminal after getting off work one day back in September. We were meeting up for a Hinge date - Sydney's first and only - to grab drinks in Midtown. Conversation came really naturally, and after four hours of sharing testimonies, ambitions, and G&Ts, we knew that there was something here. Nonstop text conversations led to more and more dates and soon enough we made it official over decaf coffees with Bailey's and whipped cream. Neither of us are known to be hesitant or timid people, so we moved forward in our relationship with a lot of confidence - Jeremy met Sydney's parents and sister less than a month into dating. We got to know each other's friends, churches, and families, and became all the more confident that our relationship was going to go the distance. Back in February, after surviving babysitting Sydney's cousins and Jeremy's inability to snowboard, marriage found a way to creep into our conversations. Something we knew we were headed toward became something we wanted now. As two Christians, we were both dating with marriage in mind from the beginning, but now we were praying and discussing together really intentionally. After about a month of prayer and asking friends and family for advice, we felt extremely confident in our decision to get married and to get married now. If we know we want to get married, why wait? And that brings us here! We're really excited for what God has in store for this next chapter of our relationship. We're excited to commit to loving each other better and better each day. We know that it is only with God's help that we'll be able to get through the inevitable difficulties of our life together, but to get to rely on Him and on one another makes even the most difficult things exciting. Love is a gift from God and we have seen His goodness on full display through our relationship. We're so excited to celebrate with all of you so soon!
We have both been blessed to know the Lord our entire lives and have looked to Him and rested in Him in whatever life has thrown our way. We know all good things come from God and are so thankful for the many blessings He has given us. We believe that marriage is a symbol of what God has in store for His people. The Bible tells us that just as a bride waits for her groom, so we wait for the day that the Lord returns. God loves us and wants to be in an eternal relationship with us in Heaven. Our sin separates us from God, but Jesus died in our place so that sin and death cannot get in the way of His love. Jesus is coming again to be united with His people forever in a place so perfect we cannot even fathom it- and this offer is for anyone that will receive it. We pray that our marriage always points us to God’s love for us. If you want to know more about this, there is nothing we would rather talk to you about. It is the joy of our lives and a joy we want to share with everyone.
