Justin and Vanessa met in Eugene in 2015 when they worked in the Freshcuts department at Safeway. Justin was Vanessa’s boss so it took a few months before they hung out but through their fandom of the Warriors and sports in general they eventually travelled to Portland for a Warriors playoff game. They started dating shortly after even though Vanessa was about to graduate and head to San Francisco for a new job. They tried long distance for a year but Vanessa eventually convinced Justin to come try out life in the Bay Area. Memorial Day weekend 2017 they packed up Justins stuff and headed to San Francisco. After 2 years and many friends made in the Bay they made their first big move together to Boise, ID after Vanessa accepted a new job there. Since then they have adopted their puppy Herbie, started new jobs, and moved into a new apartment!

One night Justin was in the bedroom and Herbie came running out. Justin yelled out to Vanessa “Hey Herbie has something in his mouth! Can you grab it?” Vanessa went over expecting to find a sock and instead found a ring box. As she turned around Justin was on knee with the ring in hand and popped the question! Of course as you already know - she said yes!
