After a mutual connection through Elizabeth's alma mater and Tim's office, we quickly hit it off while eating fried chicken and waffles at the Puckett's in downtown Nashville. A few drinks later - we were hooked. While we were both busy aspiring within our respective careers, we found time to enjoy the small things with each other, whether that be going on (really) basic dates, like apple picking or pumpkin patch hayrides, or literally just sitting around and making heart-shaped Rice Krispie treats with The Office playing in the background in our shoddily built fort. Through the ups and downs of each chapter that life has opened, we have persevered and succeeded together - and we continue to do so in our newest chapter together in North Carolina. Our life together is full of weekend adventures, Remy snuggles, (COVID-safe) date nights, and all the laughter. Through it all, we are so grateful for all of the support and encouragement we have received with open arms from all of our friends and family, and we are incredibly blessed to be able to move forward in our journey together with you all.
While Tim is not naturally good at hiding things (or finding ways to skirt the truth), he finally devised a plan for the greater good in June of 2020 - a surprise proposal. After having asked my dad for my hand in marriage, Tim quickly got to brainstorming foolproof ways to ensure he could go through with a proposal without giving it away and landed on the excuse of "I have a friend who just relocated to Nashville, would you mind if we grabbed dinner with him and showed him around?" knowing there was no possible way I could pass up an opportunity to show someone around my great city. On the way to dinner, Tim smoothly noted that his friend was running late and asked if we should stop for a short walk down by the Cumberland River since the weather was so nice. Completely unaware, I absolutely could NOT pass up the opportunity for a photo during golden hour, especially because in this rare moment, Tim was offering without me having to beg. Once in our favorite spot, Tim feigned wanting to take a picture, and upon looking back, I saw he was down on one knee. Our proposal was sweet, sentimental, and shared just between the two of us - the way I always knew it would be. After some prodding from the crowd that had gathered on the bridge overhead, cheers rang out as I enthusiastically said yes. Much to my dismay, however, Tim was so nervous about the proposal that he promptly shut the ring box after asking. But no need to worry, you can see definitely see me asking for the ring later on as we progress through the proposal photos.
