Best Man
Some relationships take a life time to develop, while some relationships God seems to ordain within what seems like weeks and David and I have one of those friendships. He’s been a great supporter in my many endeavors and has been like a brother to me. The reason he’s my best man is because he’s the best best friend a man could ask for, a confidant, and has helped me in countless ways.
Matron of Honor
EST 2017 From my many journeys to visit William in Atlanta, Jenevia and I quickly became very close friends. God has truly strategically connected us and she has been a big sister to me ever since. She has helped me so much in these last few years continuing to support me through prophesy, fellowship, and exhortation. Our relationship is a true testament to how distance and time do not dictate the potency of a friendship that God has put together. I am truly blessed to have her by my side at the altar.
Best Man
Honestly one of the best little brothers I could ask for (I say one of because my youngest brother takes the other spot). There have been countless moments where brotherhood stood stronger than trials and hard circumstances. From being in football games that felt like all out wars to times in college where one person would have 10 dollars and the other would have 0 and we would send all that we could to each other. There’s no love like a brother so to not have him in my wedding would be completely disrespectful. Besides, I was the best man when he married my sister in law.
Maid of Honor
EST 1999 She is my best friend, mini me, and little sister. She has always motivated me to reach my full potential just by knowing I am setting an example for her. She is the comedian of the family, always keeping everyone laughing. Her loyalty and honesty continue to grow our friendship. She has more faith than she knows and way more confidence than most people I’ve met. Though I may lead the way, I learn so much more from her than she learns from me. I am honored to be her big sister and to have her as my maid of honor.
Groomsman
My only big brother. A man of few words, yet those words spoken are full of meaning and substance. Omari has shown me what it takes to persevere, focus in, and that words are not always necessary to get your point across. I'm thankful for him and love him even if I don't say it as much as I should.
Maid of Honor
EST 2005 Destiny and I met on one of my first competitive cheerleading teams and we have been inseparable ever since. We made so many dance routines in our many sleepovers, if only we were making them in this era I know we would have went viral lol. Her joy and laughter drew us together as best friends but her spontaneity and faithfulness made us sisters. She has helped me break out of my shy little shell and helped me build confidence in myself. She is probably one of the only people that has seen me at my worst and was still able to see me as the person I could be. I am blessed to have her as my maid of honor.
Groomsman
The one who seemed to be everyone’s favorite little brother (even though he’s far from little now). I’ve watched Benjamin grow from a baby to a young man and experienced changing his diapers to watching him graduate and even cheering for him during a college football game. I cherish this relationship simply because we share the same blood and have carried each other through countless hard times. If we didn’t have the same parents I’d still call you brother.
Bridesmaid
EST 1996 My sweet sister-cousin. From sleepovers with Granddad at Nana’s when we were kids to being growing, young professionals still being silly every time we link up. Summer has always been so kind and caring. God truly ordained us to be family and I am grateful that we have also become great friends. I’m honored to have you as one of my bridesmaids.
Groomsman
Through getting to know Kaila and even being with her in college as she watched his football games at the University of Toledo, I could quickly see why she admires him so much. He seems quiet at first but once you get to know him more he is easily one of the funniest people you could be around. Kishon is definitely one of the coolest people I've met and I'm excited to have another big brother.
Bridesmaid
EST 2012 Colissa and I met freshman year on the Howard University cheerleading team. Colissa's sweet personality and positivity has greatly impacted me and helped me grow as a person. She was there for me in a lot of my rough college days. Even now, when things get rough in Michigan, she always welcomes me to come visit her in Virginia. I am truly blessed to have a friend like her and honored to have her as one of my bridesmaids.
Groomsman
One of my best friends in college. One who saw me go through so many different situations and was the support system I needed and vice versa. We’ve walked side by side through break ups, surgeries and rehabs, low funds, a few failed classes, lost games, but also, game changing big plays, triumphant returns to football, graduations, proposals, and promotions. Blood couldn’t make us closer, oceans couldn’t separate us.
Bridesmaid
EST 2005 Whitney and I met in grade school at Golightly Educational Center. We also attended Cass Technical high school together. It’s great to see how much we both have grown, from being reckless teens getting into trouble to being responsible and mature young adult. We were always so much a like, being quiet at first, but bold when called. Recently, I have been so inspired by how persistent and driven she remains despite the trials. I am truly blessed to have a friend like her and honored to have her as one of my bridesmaids.
Groomsman
Probably one of the most unique people that you’ll find within this wedding party. An ex-fullback slash tight end, who is now an international entrepreneur and an engineer who’s worked on incredible projects in the D.C., Maryland, and Virginia area. Yet with all the accolades, one of the most humble, quick witted, encouraging, and careful people you could meet. I honestly have no idea how we got so close, but we did and I'm grateful for it.
Bridesmaid
EST 2004 Jordan and I met in grade school at Golightly Educational Center in 2nd grade and became good friends in 4th grade. We also attended Cass Technical high school together. We had to stick together in order to endure our fathers pushing us so hard in track and field. Her kindness and great hospitality made us friends but her loyalty has kept us close all these years. I am truly blessed to have a friend like her and honored to have her as one of my bridesmaids.
