We both swiped right on Bumble and immediately hit it off after Mikayla sent an alluring "Hey :)." We quickly realized that we had similar interests, goals, hobbies, sense of humor, and values. We talked for about two weeks, sending each other texts throughout the day. During that time, Mikayla visited her best friend in Abilene and Matt was in Mexico with his squad. It just so happened that Matt went to college in Abilene at ACU which gave us a lot to talk about. He shared a list of his favorite bars, restaurants, and things to do. When we both returned to San Antonio, we went on our first date to Copa Wine Bar. We immediately bonded over the waitress asking us what our "flavor profile" was; we shared a look and both laughed when she left our table because neither of us knew what that meant (and still don't). While on our first date, Matt started making plans for our second date by purchasing movie tickets for the following day. This gesture showed Mikayla that he was interested in pursuing this connection by making his intentions clear. After our second date, Mikayla called her mom and told her "I think I met my future husband!" Melissa was shocked. She had never heard her daughter say anything like this. Shortly after, Mikayla joined Matt's sand volleyball league where we became exclusive on the third date. A year and a half into dating, Matt proposed in Florida with our family present. We are so excited to become Mr. and Mrs. Martin!
