Once a historic Georgia Power Plant, the newly renovated Plant Riverside District will be a 4.5-acre entertainment district. Visitors will be invited to reconnect with the riverfront and experience inspired dining, vibrant rooftop lounges, live music and concerts, art galleries, high-end retail shops and family attractions.
The beautiful Forsyth Park fountain is one of Savannah's most well-known icons. ... The fountain was erected in 1858. Forsyth Park was designed after the French ideal of having a central public garden, and the fountain is said to be the garden's centerpiece (although it isn't at the center of the park).
Historic River Street, paved with 200-year-old cobblestones, runs along the length of the Savannah River. You may see a cargo ship or two heading into the port while walking along River Street. Be sure to stop into River Street Sweets for their world famous pralines or Wet Willies to have a frozen drink.
