We're Getting Married!

It was a cool fall day, summer ending, school starting, yet little did I know my life would soon be changed forever. As I stood in church that evening I noticed someone; a beautiful girl with a calm spirit, and almost uncontrollably I approached her. Out of a moment of courage grew an opportunity that would soon change my life and show me what true love really means. Holly was a gift from God, and from that moment on my love continued to grow. Every day was a new adventure and I soon realized I couldn't live without her. Ten months later on the shore of Lake Michigan I asked her to be my wife, knowing that no one else would ever do. As we prepare for our lives together I think back on the love we've found, knowing that all good things come from above, and marvel at the godly woman that is soon to be my wife. What a blessing she is in my life, and I cannot wait to begin our life together as husband and wife.

To think that I told Luke I was too cold to go on the beach that night, and almost missed out on his perfectly planned proposal! But the sunset was too beautiful to pass up, so luckily his plan was saved. We started out taking pictures as the waves crashed on our feet. Little did I know Luke was recording the whole thing! After tricking me into thinking it was another picture, Luke got down on one knee. I was extremely surprised! He and I talked about getting married for a while, but he popped the question earlier than I thought he would! Those thoughts raced through my mind as he went down on his knee. I don't remember everything he said leading up to the question because I was too excited. When he asked me, "will you marry me?" I said YES right away! Now we are nearing towards our wedding date, checking things off our list of "to-do's." As I look back on that night, I'm so thankful the sunset made it impossible for me to turn down our walk on the beach.
